Job Description
Missions:
- Operate loaders and fixed bridge cranes to supply sawmills with logs.
- Inspect logs and raw wood pieces to determine the most productive, efficient, and cost-effective cuts.
- Operate and control automated sawmill equipment.
- Start conveyors to move logs and lumber from one saw to another.
- Adjust sawing equipment and replace blades or bandsaw using wrenches, gauges, and other hand tools.
- Sort and stack wood by machine according to length and thickness, transporting it to warehouses or drying chambers.
- Monitor the movement of lumber and computer displays to ensure that wood is cut according to specifications; print production reports.
- Clean and lubricate sawmill equipment.
